Host a Workshop
Why host a workshop?
- All your colleagues can be trained in one geographic area, at one time
- Teams can attend and train together
- You and your team can help plan the Workshop content
What will you need to do?
- Decide if you want a one-day, or two-day workshop
- Send desired time of year, and 3-4 possible dates
- Once a time is determined, please select the focus of your workshop
- Specific training in the use of the Learn To Talk Around The Clock, Professional's Early Intervention Toolbox
- Listening and spoken language development
- Growing Up Listening (young children who are deaf or hard of hearing)
- Infants and Toddlers
- Early Intervention Service Models
- The Coaching Method of Early Intervention
- "Promises" Parent Workshop
- Childcare Training Workshop—Training of Trainers (two days)
- Select a location for the Workshop
- Arrangement: round tables if you want more emphasis on hands-on experiences, or classroom style; table in front for presenter's supplies; table for presenter's LCD projector; lecturne if available
- Select location with ample restrooms for size of group
- Arrange for screen, lapel microphone
- Send presenter list of hotels with restaurants near location of Workshop and closest airport (largest, if possible)
- Send presenter availability of car rental agencies at airport
- Presenter will make own airfare, ground transportation, and lodging arrangements
- Presenter will arrange for duplication and shipping of supplies
What are your financial responsibilities?
- Airfare, food, lodging, ground transportation or rental car, copies and supplies
- Speaker’s fee
- Airfare and lodging for assistant if size of group warrants additional help
What will presenter bring?
- Computer, LCD projector, speakers
- Handouts for attendees
