Dr. Karen K Rossi graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with her B.A. and M.A. degrees. Karen earned her Doctorate of Education in Interdisciplinary Leadership through Creighton University in Omaha. Karen has worked as a school administrator, a preschool teacher, and an Early Intervention Specialist with families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing learning to listen and talk. Karen's many years of experience have given her thousands of hours observing child-to-parent and teacher-to-parent and childcare provider-to-child interactions to determine when communication is working, or when communication is breaking down.
Karen's mission is that all children begin Kindergarten ready to learn. Rossi is trying to help by providing unique resources--in print, online, and in person--that develop improved interactions between parents/caregivers and children. These are the interactions that help to remove the 30 million word gap and even the 20 million word gap that are currently in the news today. And it all begins with babies!
